Day 11

LOST ANOTHER 2lbs!!!

I am so proud of myself! I have really stuck with this diet and my shakes. I was so afraid that I did not lose anything because of going out of town. This week is proof that it is not about what you eat but how MUCH you eat. I had junk food that I have really been craving. I had a handful of chips not half the bag!!

One of my goals has been to help my daughter become healthier. The changes have been small but have made an impact with her. She lost 2lbs this week too! We have really just cut out sugar, and if we do eat sugar it is small amounts. I bought a few different kinds of 100 calorie snacks. We had to have the discussion that you only eat 1 and if you are hungry enough to need more then you need food not sugar. I really am feeling positive about these changes, and I am so proud of her!

The challenge is going to be the big Thanksgiving dinner. I have been really eating the things I crave. We went to the movies and I still had popcorn. I got a small bag and a diet pop rather than the jumbo sizes we would have gotten before. MODERATION!  It only took me 31years to completely comprehend this concept!

My shakes are still going well. I have been trying to do 2 shakes a day but if time and circumstances only allow 1 shake that is okay too. I have more energy and they help with my sweet tooth! I have to say it again. The shakes are great. They are helping me but I have to work on eating healthy for a long term!

Day 7

So I left my computer charger at home last weekend! I was not able to post. I felt guilty. I was not able to post I lost 3lbs!! I am excited!

I have not gotten 2 shakes in a day. I have been only getting 1. I am not too upset though. I realize that they are helpers and I have to learn to eat healthy on my own. I ate this weekend like I normally would. I just ate 1 hand full of Bugles and not half the bag!

I have to say that the shakes have been a great help. I feel like I have so much energy. I think the boost to my metabolism is helping.  I made a banana cream flavored shake and it was soooo good! I can not get over how much I have liked the shakes and how they have helped!

Day 4

To help people believe they can achieve victory, put them in a position to experience small success!

Today was no fun. I finally caught the bug that came home from school. I was not feeling so good. I did drink my two shakes. I really did not feel like eating. The strawberry cheesecake flavor is like a comfort food for me so it worked out well!

We are going to Detroit to see the father-in-law. We lost his wife this past May to cancer. She was affectionately known as the step-monster, or Mother Mary. She was a great lady and we are all missing her very much. This is our first trip to visit since she passed. We were fortunate to be with her when she passed. So the house has lots of good memories, and reminders of her.

I have come to realize I am a total emotional eater. I think this trip is going to be a test. I am taking my shakes and will have healthy snacks. My fabulous sister-in-law is a vegetarian, so it will be easier! I guess I have to realize that eating does not help and I need to deal with stress in different ways!

I will post my weight LOSS tomorrow! Fingers crossed. My fear is that I will not lose 10lbs in one week and get discouraged. I know that idea is unrealistic but that is what happens every time I try to diet. I have set my goal at 3lbs. I am thinking that I may have done it. My jeans are already a little less tight. We will see!!

Day 3

Difficulties seldom defeat people; lack of FAITH in themselves usually does it.

What a day. Wednesday is our busy day of the week.

I had school tonight. To be completely honest that meant I had homework to do all day! I am a procrastinator. I always put things off until last minute and hope I am not too late. Sad, I know.

Paul did not have to be to work until 4pm today. We took Allie out to Panara. Which is one of our favorites. I would normally have soup in a bread bowl, and another baguette. I was standing in line thinking about what I was going to order. I thought well I will have the bread with more bread! Then I thought what about my diet and what about my blog? After much contemplating I chose the low fat chicken noodle soup, and a roast beef half sandwich. I did have a baguette on the side.(I did the pick 2) I also drank ice tea with no sugar. I did not eat all the sandwich, or baguette. I had my 2 shakes today. I did a strawberry and orange flavors today. Both we really good.

I have to be honest. I have really not done any exercise. I have really been trying to be motivated. Small steps before big leaps. Trying to make too many big changes at once is really hard. I am making a commitment to myself to start exercising by Monday.

Friday is coming fast and the first weigh in! I am excited. I am hoping that I will get some pictures and links up. I have been crazy busy with homework this week so I have not gotten any up yet.

Day 2

I started my Body Bi Vi today! Wow it was really good. I made a strawberry cheesecake shake. It was really sweet and thick. I am going to try different flavor tomorrow. Tonight for dinner we had left over fajita meat so we made salads. I used taco sauce for my dressing. It is lower in calories and does not have to much sugar. For snacks I had boiled eggs, and celery and peanut butter. I have been really good and been drinking water. I have not had pop (my nemisis) for 4 days. I am starting to feel kinda slugish from the with-drawls! I know it will pass and be worth it. I have also decided to post my weight loss stats on Fridays. I looking forward to the first weigh in day!

I have been reading a very intersting book for school. It is called Becoming a Person of Influence by Jim Dornan. It is about how to be a positive influence on people. I think it has really been an eye opener for me. There are tons of great insperational quotes and stories. I really liked this quote:

Mentors impact eternity because there is not telling where their influence will stop.

DAY1

So today is the first day of my healthier lifestyle.

So here is my current plan of action. I am starting to use Body by Vi shakes tomorrow. They are nutritional supplement shakes that help boost your metabolism. I am starting out drinking two shakes a day with two snacks, and a sensible dinner. We are starting low carb and low fat meals. Exercise will be a must of course, so I am starting off using our WII Fit,and WII Fit Active. The goal is to work out at least 5 times a week. Sounds easy right?

I have a 11 year old daughter named Allie. I am hoping that these changes will be a positive influence on her. She is young enough that we still have the opportunity to make positive changes to help her be a healthy and happy woman.

My husband Paul and I have been together now for 12 years, and a long 12 years it has been for us both. We have had to really work to stay together for sure but it has been well worth it! He is being very encouraging and is very excited for the change.

I am excited at the thought of being healthy.

The plan is to post everyday. So I will talk to you tomorrow!
